About this Event
In this course, participants will delve into the mental, emotional, and physical benefits of play, exploring its significant therapeutic potential and its overall impact on well-being. They will investigate play therapy as a modality, assessing its effectiveness in treating a range of mental health symptoms and its application in clinical practice. Additionally, participants will analyze the representation of children’s play in the Disney film Toy Story, using this analysis to gain deeper insights into a child’s developmental processes and inner world, enriching their understanding of how play influences growth and emotional expression.

Course Instructor:
My name is Alan Sivakumaran. I am current LPC, CCPT, and RPT in process. I currently work for a non-profit organization called the Telos Project in Fort Worth, Texas. I am a huge fan of the MCU, Disney, Pixar, and DFW Sports.
