About this Event
Dive deeper into the gripping narrative of The Umbrella Academy with the second installment of our continuing education series, “Family Dynamics and Posttraumatic Growth: Exploring The Umbrella Academy.” This hit Netflix show, inspired by Gerard Way’s comic book series, follows the tumultuous journey of seven siblings adopted by the enigmatic billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves, destined to become a team of superheroes. As adults, they reunite following their father’s death, facing impending apocalyptic threats that force them to confront their shared past and individual traumas. In this training, participants will explore the family roles of the main characters through the lens of Family Systems Theory, examining how they collaborate and adapt to foster posttraumatic growth amidst adversity. Drawing on therapeutic interventions, we will analyze how these characters navigate their complex dynamics and offer strategies for promoting healing and resilience within the family unit. Join us as we unravel the intricacies of familial relationships within The Umbrella Academy, uncovering insights applicable to therapeutic practice and real-life family systems.
