About This Event

Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we are introduced to a startlingly diverse array of personalities, abilities, and species, all with unique characteristics. Among the diversity the viewer encounters is communication style! Just like in our day-to-day lives, individuals with unique or nontraditional communication styles are part of the MCU and can teach us about how to better appreciate and interact with people who may communicate differently from ourselves. This training will explore the MCU characters of Groot, Drax, and others who communicate in unique or nontraditional ways, and discuss how these characters can be used in therapeutic or educational settings to foster positive communication skills, understanding, and acceptance of people who may struggle with what is considered to be traditional communication in our society.
